Taikang Life Insurance announced on Monday that it will introduce a comprehensive insurance plan for patients with critical disease soon, in a bid to offer whole process services ranging from making insurance claims, seeing a doctor to medication, hospitalization and long-term medical care.

The Beijing-based insurer said the new insurance plan will integrate several of its current popular products and services to provide better protection to people with severe diseases from the very stage of being diagnosed to offering follow-up medical treatment and rehabilitation service.

For example, thanks to the specific drug insurance initiated by Taikang, patients will enjoy more convenient medication service under the scheme. The medicines purchased outside the hospitals will be reimbursed and the drugs’ quality will be ensured. Besides, they will also get more professional guidance for taking medicines.

What is more, the plan aims to facilitate people with critical illness with better access to top-level medical resources in the shortest time. So far, Taikang Life has teamed up with 526 city-level public hospitals across the country to meet the demands of policy-holders for professional guidance, expert inquiry and other health care services.
