Hasbro unveils new Transformers designs in China
US-based toy manufacturer giant Hasbro is fueling its growth on the China market by unveiling two new heavyweight Transformers products on Saturday, marking the 30-year anniversary of the characters' presence in China.
A large number of Transformers followers witnessed the global debut of the new toys, featuring iconic Transformers leader Megatron and fictional robot superhero character Jazz, on Saturday at HKRI Taikoo Hui in Jing'an District.
The two products by Japanese designer Nishimoto are based on the Transformers film, a 2007 American science fiction action film which combines computer animation with live-action filming.
Megatron was the leader and warlord of the Decepticons and he serves as nemesis of the Autobot leader Optimus Prime, while Jazz, usually portrayed as a music-loving robot, is Optimus Prime's good friend.
The design details of the two figures, including their weapons, highly replicates the original scenes.
