Axalta acquires Shanghai plant

Global coatings supplier Axalta has expanded in China with the purchase of a coatings manufacturing plant in Shanghai's Qingpu District.

“China is one of the most important markets in the world and a growth engine for Axalta," said Michael Cash, Axalta's President of Industrial Coatings.

"This is an exciting milestone for Axalta China. It marks the beginning of our new journey. We will continue to expand our business in China, our key market, by providing advanced products and services."

The plant will operate under the name of Axalta Powder Coatings (Shanghai) Co Ltd.

Axalta’s coatings are used in industries such as automotive, transportation, architecture, oil and gas pipelines, rebar and household appliances.
