Johnson Controls' Power Solutions unit, which was sold to Brookfield Business Partners, will now operate in China under its new name, Clarios, the company said on Thursday.
Joe Walicki, President of Clarios, said the company's battery business is increasingly important as the world – especially China — moves to new energy vehicles.
Kenneth Yang, vice president and general manager of Clarios China said the company would work with Chinese policymakers to introduce its experience in everything from designing and re-using batteries.
Brookfield acquired the unit on May 1.
