Shanying Jianshantang, a TCM drugstore in Songyang

Shanghai Inoherb Cosmetics Co Ltd, xbandclub, a cultural and tourism development company, and the government of Songyang County in southwestern Zhejiang Province plan to develop a number of traditional Chinese medicine tours and TCM experiences.

Songyang in Lishui City is one of the homes of herbal medicine and the production place of about 2,400 preparations.

Songyang is creating itself into a Chinese herbal medicine cultural attraction and has compiled a book of Songyang herbal medicine containing more than 200 prescriptions.

The tour routes will take visitors to Shanying Jianshantang, a temple built in the reign of Emperor Daoguang (1782-1850) in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) and turned into a drugstore after 1949.

During the trips, visitors are also able to get close to herbs on a thousand-year old traditional medicine trail, try herbal tea, enjoy healthy food, see modern technology related to TCM and create a herbal medicine bookmark at a book store in Songyang.

At the traditional TCM experience venue of Shanying Jianshantang, forums, classes and lectures will be held.

"The cultural value of Songyang will be enriched by developing cultural tourism and countryside tourism with an industry approach," said Wen Xiaoyun, deputy governor of Songyang.

Inoherb has 15 medicine patents and it has six herbal medicine bases in Tibet, Yunnan and Zhejiang.
