The Shanghai Oriental Pearl TV Tower, SiTV (Shanghai Interactive Television) under the Shanghai Media Group and Shanghai Great Trip International Travel Agency Co Ltd have inked a cooperation agreement to jointly develop tourism and study projects to encourage children to explore the Yangtze River Delta Region.

The projects will include class practice, discussion, and cooperation and exchange activities during tours designed to allow children to explore the past, present and future of Shanghai as well as cities in the Yangtze River Delta Region like Hangzhou, Nanjing, Suzhou, Lishui, Ningbo, Yangzhou and Jiaxing.

All the study programs will motivate students' interest in learning and make them involved in the society, said Yuan Minmin, a consultant of the project and deputy director of the education and sports commission of CPPCC Minhang District Committee.

The program will be screened by SiTV with a recruitment launched on Tuesday.

The study tourism market in China has big potentials and the market will surpass 100 billion yuan (US$14.53 billion) by 2020 to 2022, making it a new tourism spotlight, the China Tourism Academy said.
