Health care company seeks local partners
US health care company Abbott is seeking more local partners to strengthen services for diabetes patients and integrate prevention and treatment.
It will also deepen collaboration with Sinopharm Group to expand sales and after sales services for its Freestyle Libre glucose monitoring system in China, said Shawn Xiang, regional general manager for China, South-East Asia and South Korea.
Globally, its partners include Danish diabetes care provider Novo Nordisk and French pharma giant Sanofi to seek integration for its continuous glucose monitor system with insulin injection systems from other drug companies.
Xiang said it expects such glucose monitoring and testing devices which help lower the burden of patients and medical institutions to be included in the national reimbursement list.
A number of local digital health care service providers and medical institutions are also joining hands to provide a systematic approach to the early detection and monitoring of patients' conditions.
It's also working with Sanofi to make the FreeStyle Libre system compatible with future smart pens, smartphone apps and cloud software.
