KPMG and employees donate 4 million yuan toward coronavirus relief

Since the coronavirus outbreak, KPMG China has been seeking opportunities to support the relief effort. In total 4 million yuan (US$570,000) were donated to purchase medical supplies and to support workers at front line. The funds also supported several non-governmental organizations to help low-income households whose lives are impacted by the outbreak.

A big portion of the donations came from the KPMG China employees who contributed through the KPMG Foundation. The Foundation received overwhelming response since it was launched through the company email and raised 1.4 million yuan in seven days. The KPMG Foundation matched employee’s donations for a total donation of 3 million yuan.

KPMG has been working with Future Smile Charitable Foundation to purchase essential medical supplies such as surgical masks, protective suits and goggles, ventilators, monitors, portable UV air purifiers and coronavirus test kits, among other items to provide needs from the front line.

Support in the form of medical equipment, hygiene packs and financial assistance.

Earlier KPMG China donated an additional 1 million yuan to purchase 10 non-invasive ventilators in cooperation with Beijing United Foundation for China’s Health which were delivered to Leishenshan Hospital in Wuhan on February 8 to support the hospital’s urgent need of medical equipment.

For low-income households, KPMG supported the Henan Children's Hope Relief Foundation to provide shelter for poor children undergoing treatment and surgical masks for a full month. KPMG also worked with Plan International HK to support 800 underprivileged families in Hong Kong for hygiene kits including masks, hand sanitizer and household disinfectants to fight the epidemic.
