Gaussian Robotics has secured 150 million yuan (US$22.1 million) in a new round of financing, the Shanghai-based robot startup said on Wednesday.

Investors in the new fundraising include Broad Vision Funds, China Capital Management, BlueRun Ventures, Grand Flight Investment and Korea Investment Partners.

Founded in 2013, Gaussian focuses on smart cleaning robots. Business for the company boomed during the pandemic. The company now has six production lines with 1,000 landing projects in 30 countries and regions globally.

The company’s robots are used at Beijing’s Daxing International Airport, which opened last year, Shanghai Daily reported previously.

The cleaning robots can take simple tasks, which makes sense in a modern society which has a large aging population, the company said.
