Ningbo flexes its muscles

Ningbo hosted a conference during the China International Import Expo to promote its strength in business environment and trade. At the meeting, the city signed a number of deals with businesses in Belt and Road countries. 

Mayor Qiu Dongyao told the meeting that the city in east China's Zhejiang Province will continue to pursue high-standard opening up and take an active move in the Belt and Road initiative. The expo was a good opportunity for the city to show its commitment.

Ningbo's gross domestic product grew 7.1 percent in the first three quarters of this year to 760.2 billion yuan (US$109.5 billion), and it is expected to top 1 trillion yuan for the whole year.
