The signing ceremony between Lingang Special Area and the Shanghai Services Federation on Tuesday

Led by the Shanghai Services Federation, a number of service providers signed agreements with the Lingang authority on Tuesday to launch businesses in the special area of the Shanghai free trade zone.

The federation will help them list on the STAR Market, Shanghai's science and technology innovation board, by using its comprehensive resources, according to Chen Zhenhong, the federation’s executive vice chairman.

Shanghai and Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui provinces established a Yangtze River Delta Services Federation late last month to boost the implementation of the national strategy of regional integration in the Yangtze River Delta, according to Chen.

At the same time, he hoped that through the signing ceremony to strengthen cooperation between Lingang and the Yangtze federation to attract more enterprises to launch businesses in Lingang, so as to promote the high-quality development of the special area.

Zhu Zhisong, executive deputy director of the Lingang Special Area Administrative Committee, said the area attached great importance to the development of the service industry, focusing on six key areas — new international trade, cross-border finance, function shipping, professional services, information services and sports and tourism services.

At present, the overall development of the service industry in Lingang is showing a good trend. From January to June this year, fixed asset investment in the tertiary industry was 15.204 billion yuan (US$2.26 billion), an increase of 9.5 percent over the same period of last year, accounting for 64 percent of the total fixed asset investment.
