Foreign trade goes hand in hand with Internet Plus
Fifteen companies were awarded the 2017 annual foreign trade innovative companies at the forum.
The new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation requires more modes of foreign trade and more cross-industry cooperation, experts said during a forum on internet plus foreign trade, where people from various fields shared their ideas and experience.
The 2017 China (Shanghai) Internet Plus Foreign Trade Summit Forum, hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of China and the Shanghai Municipal Government, invited economists, entrepreneurs and internet transformation experts sharing their interpretation of macro economic policies, foresight on trends and strategies and innovative experience.
"As a new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation is coming and the global industrial structure and competitive landscape are under deep adjustments, China, as the second largest economy and the top foreign trading power for four years, should pay more attention to innovative strategies." said Zhou Hanmin, vice chairman of Shanghai Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference.

Shanghai’s foreign trade maintained the momentum, up by 16.6 percent to 2.39 trillion yuan in the first three quarters from the same period last year, with the quality and efficiency being enhanced steadily.
"Over 90 percent of foreign trade companies in Shanghai are developing innovative trade modes taking advantage of internet technologies," said Shen Weihua, vice chairman of the Shanghai Commission of Commerce.
"The deep integration of internet and traditional foreign trade makes the supply chain of trade simpler and improves the transparency of information. This can play an important role in expanding overseas marketing channels, enlarging the market share of global trade, cultivating new advantages in foreign trade competition, and realizing the transformation and upgrading of foreign trade," he said.
As companies in Shanghai have actively explored the internet innovation to make transitions and upgrading since 2017, 15 companies were awarded as the 2017 annual foreign trade innovative companies by Shanghai Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export and the forum organizing committee at the forum.
