Almost 300 new technologies and products at home and abroad will be launched at 2018 CIIF

The 2018 China International Industry Fair opened in Shanghai today and is due to host more than 50 thematic forums and over 30 industrial and enterprise forums.

The forum opened as China celebrates the 40th anniversary of its reform and opening-up this year and the CIIF hosts its 20th year.    

Almost 300 new technologies and products at home and abroad will be launched at CIIF, according to organizers.

The 2018 CIIF will focus on four aspects. It will showcase new breakthroughs made in combining the manufacturing industry and the Internet as well as recent development of an integrated industrial chain in the Yangtze River Delta. It will also exhibit the cluster development of the robotic industry in the Yangtze River Delta, and highlight achievements in scientific and technical innovation. Lastly it will show the latest results in digital and intelligent products.

The Metalworking and CNC Machine Tool Show, part of CIIF, will have nearly 600 exhibitors displaying all kinds of metal-cutting and metal-forming machine tools.

The Robotics Show will host 300 exhibitors, including “the big four” of ABB, FANUC, KUKA and YASKAWA.

The fair will host 52 thematic forums, and 35 industrial and enterprise forums. The highlights are the 40 Years’ International Cooperation of Manufacturing Summit Forum jointly held by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Shanghai government, the 2018 World Intelligent Connected Car Conference as well as 2018 Innovation and Emerging Industries Development.

This year's fair has drawn 2,631 exhibitors from 27 countries and is expected to attract over 170,000 visitors.
