Shanghai's role as a leader in innovation and entrepreneurship is being showcased as part of a national week focusing on the skills, which began yesterday.

This year's Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week kicked off at B•Link in Yangpu Dsitrict has the theme “high standard innovation and entrepreneurship, and high quality development”.

Seventy-eight stands, covering a total 1,600 square meters, are focusing on Shanghai's strengths in science and technology, including young entrepreneurs and students.

The event at B•Link includes 27 projects from seven national demonstration sites for innovation and entrepreneurship, including Fudan University, Shanghai Jiaotong University and Baosteel.

Another highlight of Shanghai’s activities is the 2018 ASIA Hardware Battle, which is its  second consecutive year for as the major feature of Shanghai’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week.

The Battle, which has attracted more than 500 teams from 16 cities in eight Belt and Road Initiative countries will be held today. Foreign teams account for two thirds of the competitors.

In the final, 15 teams will show their latest smart hardware and the top and freshest scientific and technical ideas, enabling the visitors to experience the best technology in hardware such as the AR-M200 high definition wireless audio machine from the Shanghai team.

The three-year-old Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week was proposed by Premier Li Keqiang with the hope of encouraging the spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation of the Chinese nation.
