Concert to mark 30th anniversary of IBLAC
A concert is held at the Shanghai Symphony Hall on Saturday to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the International Business Leaders' Advisory Council for the Mayor of Shanghai.
Business executives of the International Business Leaders' Advisory Council had a light moment on Saturday when they attended a concert performed by the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra.
The concert is also part of celebration of Starr Group's 100th anniversary in China, whose chairman and CEO Maurice R. Greenberg was the first chair of the IBLAC.
The concert, conducted by Yu Long, music director of the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, presented works of Barber, Mozart, Tchaikovsky and Chinese composer Bao Yuankai.
The concert is hosted by Maurice R. Greenberg (left), chairman and CEO of Starr Group, who received a gift from Shanghai Mayor Ying Yong on Saturday to honor his contribution to the International Business Leaders' Advisory Council. Mr Greenberg is the first chair of IBLAC in 1990 and he served two terms afterward.
The concert is also part of the celebration of Starr Group's 100th anniversary in China.The group was established in Shanghai in 1919 as the first American-owned insurance enterprise.
Members of the IBLAC enjoy the concert, conducted by Yu Long, music director of the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra. Yu has an established international reputation. He has appeared with a prestigious list of leading orchestras, including New York Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Philadelphia Orchestra.
