Global talent network held its annual assembly in Shanghai
InterSearch, a global network for executive search firms, held its annual assembly in Shanghai on Wednesday night — the first time it held the event in China in 12 years.
“China has seen more senior ranking executives exposed to the global talent pool,” said Jing Hong, general manager of ZW HR Consulting, the China representative in the InterSearch network. “That’s why InterSearch came back to China.”
Frank Schelstraete, chairman of InterSearch, said many new opportunities are created for senior ranking executives when the world is facing rapid changes including digitization, sustainable development, faster aging population and issues like trade disputes.
“You can see shortages of talent in almost every industry,” Schelstraete said. “As a network of head hunters, we are obliged to motivate talented people and help them find the right position so that they can motivate others.”
In his opinion, executives nowadays should be more energetic and knowledgeable to lead a company that may have business across the world, and above all, they should be more empathetic – being willing and able to understand other people, other culture and other countries.
Representatives from more than 50 countries participated the assembly, which was themed “Globalization and Empowerment of Talent.”
