A total of 115 companies from all over the globe have signed up for the third China International Import Expo (CIIE) so far, over a year before the event will take place, according to its organizer.

Sun Chenghai, vice director of the CIIE Bureau, said those companies have covered over 60,000 square meters of the exhibition area for the third CIIE.

Danone, a world-leading food company, is one of the enterprises which have signed up for next year's event.

Bruno Chevot, the company's senior vice president, said the first CIIE had generated huge business opportunities for participating companies. At this year's event, Danone plans to introduce over 120 products, among which nearly 10 are new to the Chinese market.

The second CIIE will take place in Shanghai from November 5 to 10.
