Financiers saluted for contribution to Shanghai market
The winners.
Twenty-four Shanghai financiers have been recognized for their contribution to the growth of the city’s financial market in 2020.
Jiao Jinpu with the Shanghai Gold Exchange Chen Qichang with the Agricultural Bank of China Shanghai Branch, and Wang Fenghai with the Shanghai Futures Exchange, were among the award winners.
The ceremony was organized by Xinhua news agency under the guidance of the Shanghai Financial Regulatory Bureau, the Shanghai Head Office of the People’s Bank of China, the Shanghai Bureau of China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission and the Shanghai Bureau of China Securities Regulatory Commission.
This year marked the 10th anniversary of the awards, which coincided with the city becoming the third in the latest edition of the Global Financial Centers Index (GFCI 28), co-published by the China Development Institute in Shenzhen and Z/Yen Partners, a London-based market research company.
Shanghai rose one place and overtook Tokyo to the third in the index, only behind New York and London.
