Shanghai stocks closed flat today, although gains were seen in financial shares and resource firms.
The Shanghai Composite Index edged up 0.1 percent to close at 3,290.23 points.
Insurance companies, brokerage and non-ferrous metals are among the biggest gainers today. The financial sector gained around 1 percent, according to the data from the Wind Information Co.
Ping An Insurance Group Co of China Ltd jumped by 4.09 percent to close at 55.20 yuan (US$8.29) and China Pacific Insurance Group Co Ltd rose 3.69 percent to 34.87 yuan.
