70 percent of A-share companies post strong growth in net profit
Seventy percent of A-share companies posted a strong growth in net profit and nearly half achieved higher returns on equity, according to their semi-annual reports.
By yesterday 3,343 A-share companies had released their semi-annual reports which showed that total revenue for the companies rose 21.8 percent while they achieved a year-on-year growth of 17.92 percent in net profit in the first half of 2017. Among them, 70 percent of the companies saw a growth in net profit, and 48 percent increased their return on assets.
Among the 2,346 companies which posted a profit growth, 646 of them saw a rise of over 100 percent, and 79 companies reported a sharp jump of over 10 times. Meanwhile, the net profit of 996 companies declined, of which 367 companies dropped by over 30 percent.
