Shanghai stocks fell on Tuesday due to weak market sentiment with declines in the banking and insurance sectors.
The Shanghai Composite Index lost 0.87 percent to close at 2,982.07 points.
Banking shares, computer enterprises and brokerages were among the biggest decliners today.
