Shares edge up
Shanghai shares ended slightly higher on Wednesday as market sentiment improved after the release of planned scope of Lingang Special Area of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone.
The Shanghai Composite Index edged up 0.01 percent to close at 2,880.33 points.
Shares of property developers, shipping firms and electronics manufacturing were among the biggest gainers.
Shares related to Shanghai free trade zone jumped after the news that the Shanghai free trade zone now includes Lingang Special Area, doubling the size of the FTZ. On Wednesday, Shanghai government released the map of Lingang Special Area and the first stage of development area.
Shanghai Lingang Holdings Co Ltd jumped 7.14 percent to 29.26 yuan (US$4.14) and Shanghai Pudong Road&Bridge Construction Co Ltd added 2.92 to 6.69 yuan.
