Shanghai Pudong Development Bank unveiled a management headquarters on Tuesday to promote financial integration in the Yangtze River Delta region.

It will carry out pilot projects in such areas as cross-regional cooperation, supporting financial services and information-sharing and better serve regional high-quality development.

The Shanghai bank said the headquarters will be responsible for the overall deployment and promotion of its support for financial integration in the region.

Specifically, the aim is to link the bank’s management platforms in the region, formulate a bank-wide plan for integrated development and ensure a smooth flow of regional integration services.

The headquarters will be committed to offering comprehensive and specialized financial products and services for people and companies in the region.

It will also function as an innovation platform focusing on serving free trade, accelerating the development of green finance and product innovation, and supporting the construction of Shanghai as an international financial center.

Last week, 16 pilot measures were announced to push for greater financial integration in the Yangtze River Delta Ecology and Integration Demonstration Area.

The 2,300-square-kilometer demonstration zone includes Shanghai’s Qingpu District, Wujiang District in Jiangsu Province and Jiashan County in Zhejiang Province.

It was set up on November 1 by the State Council as a pioneer in conducting the delta’s integration development strategy.
