Shanghai banking official under investigation
Zhou Wenjie, a member of the Party Committee and deputy director of the Shanghai Bureau of the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission, is reported to be suspected of serious violation of discipline and law, and is currently undergoing disciplinary review and investigation.
The news was announced by the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Team of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision working at the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission and the Shanghai Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision.
Zhou was born in September 1971 in Zhuji in Zhejiang Province and joined the Communist Party of China in May 1994.
Before serving at the Shanghai Bureau of the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission, he worked at the Shanghai Branch of the People's Bank of China from 2001 to 2003.
