Mega mixed-use development planned for Huangpu

The Greenland Bund Center in Dongjiadu will have a total gross floor area of 1.2 million square meters.

Leading real estate developer Greenland Group has unveiled a masterplan for its mega mixed-use project in Shanghai's downtown Huangpu District, which is set to become the newest landmark development along the city's historic Bund.

The Greenland Bund Center in Dongjiadu will have a total gross floor area of 1.2 million square meters, of which some 760,000 square meters are above ground.

The mega development will mainly consist of a 300-meter skyscraper with a 280-room luxury hotel on the top floors, about 170,000 square meters of upscale retail, cultural and entertainment space, about 126,000 square meters of high-end apartments, areas designated for corporate offices and nearly and nearly 50,000 square meters of public green space, according to Chen Hongliang, a product design manager at Greenland's real estate unit.

Inspired by the High Line Park in New York, a nearly 1,000-meter elevated corridor will connect buildings in the complex.
