Huawei likely eclipses Apple in sales
Huawei Technologies has surpassed Apple Inc to become the world’s No. 2 smartphone vendor, with expansion on high-end and artificial intelligence features, the Shenzhen-based firm said today in Shanghai.
In the third quarter, Huawei’s smartphone sales jumped 19 percent to hit 112 million units, with a revenue growth of over 30 percent, representing Huawei’s expansion in the high-end segment, according to Huawei.
Research firms said they couldn’t provider market share figure now in the third quarter. But both IDC and Gartner said previously that Huawei was narrowing gap between Apple, the No. 2 global smartphone vendor in the second quarter.
