Baidu will leverage its artificial intelligence and technology to accelerate innovative business models in the telecommunications industry with China Mobile.

The two companies signed a strategic partnership on Thursday that will see them collaborate in big data, 5G communications network and AI.

By the end of June, they plan to offer the first tailor-made data package for China Mobile users to cover users' data connection to Baidu's search services as well as its video streaming unit IQiyi and social platform Baidu Tieba.

China Mobile will also help promote Baidu's driverless-vehicle projects and the two partners will discuss integrating Baidu's proprietary operation system DuerOS with other interconnected vehicle systems.

China Mobile also plans to leverage the search giant's capability in image and voice recognition to create an innovative app to use AI in telecommunications.
