Apple Inc released latest iPhones in China with price up to 12,799 yuan (US$1,872), the most expensive iPhone in the history. 

The new iPhone XS cost starting from 8,699 yuan, while the iPhone XS Max 512 GB model costs 12,799 yuan. 

The news iPhones look similar with previous iPhone X models in design. But Apple offers a new gold color version unique for the latest models.

During a media hand-on session held today in Apple’s office, functions are favored like upgraded processor A12; improved photography functions including smart HDR, bokeh and depth control, more lower light details and sharper action shots and dual-SIM (subscriber identity module) support, which is only available in China.

China Mobile also started selling new iPhones in its Shanghai outlets with mobile contracts. With a 12-month contract, the iPhone XS costs from only 4,465 yuan, said the carrier.
