Foxconn appoints new chairman
Foxconn Technology Group, the major manufacturer of parts for Apple’s iPhone, has appointed a new chairman to replace Terry Guo, the company’s billionaire founder.
From July 1, Liu Young-Way will be the new chairman of Foxconn, the world’s biggest contract electronics maker. Liu, a veteran Foxconn executive, heads Foxconn’s semiconductor business and is a member of the board of Sharp Corp, a Foxconn subsidiary.
Foxconn operates manufacturing plants in the Chinese mainland producing parts for iPhone, iPad, Mac and other Apple devices.
Foxconn Industrial Internet, a Foxconn-invested firm focusing on the industrial Internet sector was listed in Shanghai in June of 2018.
Guo, still the biggest shareholder in Foxconn, announced that he is campaigning to be leader of Taiwan.
