A glimpse of Huawei Developer Conference and its Songshan Lake campus
An unexpected typhoon and cancelled flight forced me to stay one more night in Dongguan, the South China city home to the Huawei Developer Conference 2019, giving me the chance to explore the Huawei Songshan Lake Industrial Park, which costs 10 billion yuan (US$1.4 billion).
It is a kind of fantasy land with castles, old-fashioned buildings, lakes and even its own railway system. On the shores of Songshan Lake, it is only a 40-minute ride away from Huawei’s headquarters in Shenzhen.
During HDC 2019, Huawei and its partners are showing off technologies which will reshape our everyday lives, including its own operating system Harmony, autonomous driving and new features for smartphones such as gesture recognition.
