Foxconn's factories are taking various measures to protect its 1 million employees as production resumes across the country.
Foxconn, the world’s top contract electronics manufacturer and maker of the iPhone, is taking various measures to ensure the health of its employees as production resumes during the coronavirus epidemic.
The company invited respiratory disease scientist Zhong Nanshan to be a consultant and has opened a production line for face masks.
Foxconn has almost 1 million workers and 30 industrial parks where it makes components and devices for many vendors of smart devices, including smartphone, computer, TV, car and other electronics devices.
Zhong will be Foxconn's chief coronavirus prevention adviser, helping it deal with health and prevention issues for free.
Zhong warned about the risk of COVID-19 spread earlier this year and played an important role in fighting the SARS epidemic 17 years ago.
Foxconn's new production line had made over 1 million masks by February 17 and daily production will hit 1 million, the company said.
Other measures taken to protect employees include remote temperature checks and separate dining.
