Nine teachers from different parts of rural China participated in an art camp held by Helinshe in Shanghai from August 2 to August 6.

They visited well-known local spots such as Shanghai Concert Hall, Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center, and the Bund Finance Center, where they saw exhibitions and attended lectures and workshops.

They took part in art lessons, including silk-screen printing, stop motion animation, drama, and dance. The lessons were designed to guide rural teachers to improve their own artistic abilities.

"This is a very good chance for all of us," said Zhao Jingning, an art teacher from Lijiang in Yunnan Province. "As rural kids have fewer chances to receive good art education, the things that we have learned in these five days can help them a lot. We can also put our traditional culture into art lessons to develop the unique talents of rural children."
