Mika Ninagawa: a vibrant Japanese artist of many faces

Versatile Japanese artist Mika Ninagawa brings her masterpieces to Shanghai in November.

Photographer, director, designer, fashionista. With her many and varied identities and titles, versatile Japanese artist Mika Ninagawa brings her masterpieces to Shanghai in November.

Born into an artistic family in 1972, Ninagawa is renowned for her vibrant and brightly colored photos of flowers, goldfish and landscapes.

With the title of “Embracing the Light,” the show will feature different themes like flowers, liquid dreams and portraits of various Chinese and Japanese celebrities.

In Mika’s works, women’s beauty, sweetness, sexiness and nature is expressed through her mixture and preference of colors. Visitors will be able to take selfies and shoot photos with the portraits of their favorite celebrities.

The bar and cafe designed by Mika will allow visitors to grab a drink and relax in a unique artistic atmosphere.
