On Air: Cultural Exchange at Aurora Museum

“On Air,” a cultural exchange project by the Aurora Museum has invited three British artists to Shanghai to share stories behind their works and their inspiring experiences around the world.

Through the investigation of population, object and location, the artists will delve through the history of their works and present the audience with thought-provoking cultural and historical insights.

The creative minds of artists, filmmakers and designers are always inspired by anthropology and archeology. They illustrate the world we are living in, present the culture and history we have, and demonstrate our creation and legacy, which bring us feelings of happiness, joy, surprise and sorrow.

Among these three artists, Shona Illingworth will demonstrate her works which are created in a multi-media method in combination of sound, movie, image, photography and painting.

Patrick Hough, who is gifted at studying movie from a historical perspective, will present his understanding of the relationship between science and museology.

Karen Kramer, a creator in great admiration of nature and myth, will probe into the criticism of nature and the artificial world through her work. The event is co-organized by Videoclub and International Art & Science Research Institute.
