Exhibition examines relationship among man, nature and metaphysical force of universe
“Blissful Land II — Still Waters Run Deep,” currently underway at Shanghai Himalayas Museum, features artworks created by a group of Chinese artists
It will be running until the end of this month.
The exhibition, which includes works by Bing Yi, Hu Xiangcheng and Qiu Anxiong, also showcases paintings created by artists from the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties and the Republic of China (1912-49).
The exhibit revolves around a theme examining the relationship between man and nature and the metaphysical force of the universe, according to curator Dai Zhikang, director and founder of the museum,
The exhibition, part of a trilogy of “Blissful Land” projects launched by the museum, tries to explore an inner link among Chinese artists from ancient and modern times. It aims to find a balance under the over abundant information in the current epoch.
