Closed for good: The last of the musical dinosaurs
"Classic Music Store," a music store that has been operating in a narrow dead-end at 64 Fenyang Road for 14 years, closed for good on November 18.
Classic was the last music shop standing on the street, perhaps one of the last privately owned record stores in the whole country — a dinosaur, struggling to survive in the face of the rise of the smart little mammals of e-commerce.
According to its owner, who insists on being called A Jiu (Mr Nine), the lease on the store was due to end soon, and he has no desire to sign up in a new one.
