Shanghai Auto Museum has launched a classic cars exhibition to chronicle the 70 years of Porsche history.

The exhibit, which runs till January 1, showcases vintage car models and provides interactive events for auto enthusiasts.

The exhibit features a full lineage of the historic classic-car series from its first to seventh generation, including the 911 Carrera — one of the brand’s most popular cars. Also on display is the powerful 356C made in 1964 — the final development in the long-lived 356 lineup.

A special car was manually made based on the original shape and craftsmanship of the 356 “No.1” Roadster.

The Shanghai Auto Museum has a long history of linking up with Formula One and several other automobile brands to showcase some truly spectacular public exhibitions.

Such events have provided a valuable insight into the history and technical innovation of the auto industry.

The museum also presents exhibits of old gasoline pumps, fire extinguishers, portable oil carts, parking meters, vending machines, telephones and TV sets.

These items combine to create a nostalgic ambience of the vintage car scene in Shanghai.
