SMG center to nurture outstanding documentaries

Shanghai Media Group set up its Documentary Center on Monday.

The center will gather the documentary content of its major channels and produce original documentary series and films. 

Center officials said most of their productions will tell distinctive Chinese stories with a global vision. Some outstanding works will also target the international market. 

Later this year, the center will present a series of documentaries in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China and the liberation of Shanghai. 

The documentaries will record the historical moments and the achievements of the country and the city over the past decades.
