“Light and Function,” the opening exhibition at the NI Art Museum in Suzhou, was recently unveiled to the public.

Artists including Wang Zhipeng and Li Hongxiang have brought nearly 30 works that include interactive installations, videos and immersive art under the "Light and Function" theme.

“Color is a critical part in art, which has fascinated countless artists in the past,” said Gao Qi, the museum's founder.

“Today when entering a digital era, the eyes of human beings rely more on the illusion of colors under artificial light, like immersive art. In the future era, what will the meaning of colors be to us? It is something open to discussion through different thoughts and expression of the artists.”

Gao said the museum will also serve as a venue for teenagers' art education.

Gao hopes it will become a new platform to invite top artists and give the children and adults an opportunity to perceive art via many cross-media exhibitions in the future.
