Following Edvard Munch exhibitions at the British Museum in 2019 and the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo in 2018, “Scream & Respond” will be unveiled on September 25 at Shanghai Jiushi Art Museum.

Organized by the local museum and Norway's Snowflake Art AS, the exhibition includes 53 of Munch’s prints and paintings on loan from the Gundersen Collection.

One of the most influential artists in history, Munch’s “Scream” is among the most recognizable artworks in the world.

Apart from original prints and paintings, a collection of related documents, videos and interactive new media will bring visitors closer to the legendary artist.

The spotlight goes to a lithograph of “Scream” created in 1895 by Munch himself.

Opened two years ago, this is also the first time that Shanghai Jiushi Art Museum will host a major overseas exhibition. Security measures will be adopted specifically for the exhibition.
