Volunteers from Minhang Media Center and Shanghai Morning Post deliver food to communities in lockdown.

A township e-commerce food platform launched by Maqiao Town in Minhang District on March 20 helps give residents in lockdown access to fresh food.

The platform was launched through the Kuai Tuan Tuan 快团团 applet and people can access it through Gu Teng Maqiao (古藤马桥), the official WeChat platform of Maqiao Town.

The range of foods includes fruit, vegetables, meat, local rice, Bright milk and sunflower seed oil. Other foods like eggs and bread are being replenished.

The platform offers economic prices, and about 2,000 people have used it so far.

The platform's first-day orders were up to 1,450 items.

Residents in the same compound can make order at the app with a unified address, and orders close at 4pm daily and the food is delivered to the compound the next day and distributed to residents in lockdown by community volunteers.

Other subdistricts and towns, including Xinzhuang Town, Jiangchuan Road Subdistrict, Wujing Town and Xinhong Subdistrict, have also launched their own group order platforms at Kuai Tuan Tuan.

Zhuanqiao, Qibao, Pujiang, Huacao towns and Pujin, Hongqiao and Gumei subdistricts have launched online food service platforms with companies like Carrefour, China Resources and Trust-mart.
