British filmmaker Matthew Vaughn arrived in Shanghai today, together with actors Taron Egerton and Mark Strong, to promote his latest film "Kingsman: The Golden Circle." They will attend the film's China premiere tonight at the Shanghai Film Art Center.

The action comedy film is a sequel to the 2014 box-office sensation "Kingsman: The Secret Service," which grossed 485 million yuan (US$73.5) at the Chinese box office when it was released here in 2015.

It is a story of the Kingsmen who have to band together with their American counterparts, the Statesmen, when their headquarters are destroyed and the world was put in danger by a new threat.

The second installment will hit cinemas across China on October 20. It will also present an IMAX version.

Director Vaughn told local media that many visually stunning action scenes in the movie are “creative and incredible.” The agents are equipped with high-tech weapon to fight the evil.

During the press conference, some hairy crabs, a delicacy in the Yangtze River Delta region, were creatively laid out to form the sign of "K." The cast also proposed a toast with Chinese rice wine in Mandarin.
