Mrs Globe Shanghai crowned
Shanghai has chosen its representative for this year’s Mrs Globe competition, an international beauty pageant for married women over the age of 25.
After showing off her talent, elegance and etiquette, 47-year-old Zhao Yiwen was honored with the crown and the chance to represent Shanghai at the Mrs Globe China final in Beijing.
Zhao, a senior manager at a multinational enterprise, beat out around 20 other finalists in the Shanghai heats with her singing, violin playing and tea art skills.
The Mrs Globe competition began in the United States in 1996 and over the years has hosted cultural and tourist events in many countries, including Mexico, Greece, Latvia and China.
A charity auction was also held during the final on Friday night, with all proceeds going to those in need across the country.
Mrs Globe will also hold heats in other Chinese cities, including Beijing and Shenzhen, before Mrs Globe China is crowned in Beijing on November 26.
