Li Shai, a local designer and model, was crowned Miss Asia Shanghai on Saturday. She will represent Shanghai to vie for the title of Miss Asia China in Shenzhen on Sunday.
Luo Liping was the first runner-up and Wang Yating was the second runner-up on Saturday.
Eighteen finalists competed in the competition. After displaying their energy and elegance in evening dress and swimsuit, they also showed off their versatility in dancing, singing, music and drama.
Founded in 1985, the Miss Asia Pageant has uncovered stars such as actress Li Chi, Christine Ng and Kristy Yang. The beauty pageant is for single women between 16 and 28 years old.
