 Haha TV will broadcast a children's New Year gala.

An array of TV programs covering variety, documentary and classic movies will be offered on local TV channels during the coming Spring Festival holiday.

On the evening of Lunar New Year's Day (February 16), Dragon TV will present a star-studded Spring Festival gala to celebrate the Year of the Dog. The heartwarming show invites local diver Wu Minxia, who has five Olympic gold medals, to share her stories. Other guests include crosstalk artist Guo Degang, Hong Kong singer Gloria Tang and mainland actress Sun Li.

On February 19, a special New Year performance of the famed crosstalk club Deyun Club will be aired on Dragon TV.

The Entertainment Channel will gather celebrated local TV hosts to present a singing gala on Lunar New Year's Eve. During the holiday, Haha TV and the Opera Channel will also broadcast a children’s New Year gala and traditional theater show.

Documentary lovers will be offered a series of new culture and history productions, such as “The Four Treasures of Study,” “The Great Wall” and “The Mysterious Western Xia” on each afternoon during the holiday.

Blockbuster movies including “Star Trek,” “The Rock,” “The Avengers” and “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol” will be broadcast on ICS and the Drama Channel.
