A romance of the accordion and strings
Ksenija Sidorova and the Goldmund Quartet will come to Shanghai and present a romantic night for classical music lovers.
Viewed as “superbly subtle and virtuosic” and “an amazingly accomplished artist,” Sidorova is the leading ambassador of the accordion.
Born in Latvia, she is praised as an artist who plays her instrument in such a unique way that goes leagues beyond the stereotypes.
Sidorova often collaborates with renowned musicians and orchestras. This time, she will join the Goldmund Quartet, one of the most exciting string quartets in Europe.
Based in Munich, the Goldmund Quartet consists of violinists Florian Schotz and Pinchas Adt, violist Christoph Vandory and cellist Raphael Paratore.
Since their debut at Munich, it has appeared in many international festivals and has performed in prestigious venues in China, America, Canada, Denmark, France and Spain.
Bringing stringed instrument music and the accordion together, Sidorova and the Goldmund Quartet will perform works from Mozart, Dvorak, Angelis and Piazolla, including the China premiere of Akhunov’s Two Keys to One Brodsky’s Poem.
