Chinese mainland scriptwriter Liu Heping will chair the jury panel in the TV series category. 

The organizing committee of the 24th Shanghai International TV Festival announced competition jury members for the categories of TV series, documentary and animation today.

The festival will run from June 11 to 15, when outstanding TV productions from all over the world will vie for Magnolia Awards. 

The awards ceremony will be held on June 15.

Chinese mainland scriptwriter Liu Heping, best known for “All Quiet in Peking” and “Yongzheng Dynasty,” will chair the jury panel in the TV series category.

British TV producer and director Nick Fraser, known for his well-received documentary “Storyville,” will be the jury president in the documentary category.

British animation producer Kay Benbow, who has over 25 years of experience in children’s programming, primarily at the BBC, will judge the animation category.

This year’s TV festival will collaborate with Chlitina to launch a Magnolia reading program, where celebrated actors/actresses will be invited to share their own reading stories to promote in-depth reading among the younger generation.

It will also include an international TV market, NAB Show Shanghai, Magnolia TV Forum and a master class in TV production.

Founded in 1986, the Shanghai TV Festival has played an important role in shaping and developing China’s TV industry.
