Representative works of celebrated Chinese comedy star Chen Peisi will be presented at Shanghai Majestic Theater from November to December.

Following the Shanghai stop, the four dramas created by Chen ─ namely “Shill,” “Balcony,” “The House” and “The Stage” ─ will also tour Hangzhou, Xiamen and Shenzhen.

According to Chen, he created the four plays during different phases of his career. They convey his own understanding about theater.

“Shill,” a satire about fraud and deception created in 2001, was Chen’s first attempt at stage drama. “Balcony” centers around a group of people who want to commit suicide for different reasons. “The House” portrays four suspects in a murder case in an old house. “The Stage” is a period drama about a theatrical troupe.

Chen also announced collaboration with the ticketing website Damai.cn. They will work together to cultivate young theater talent to create more original dramas.

Special tickets will be offered to disadvantaged groups.
