New crime flick 'Decoder' expected to be a summer smash

The crew of crime flick "Decoder," which will begin nationwide release on August 3, held a press conference as part of the 21st Shanghai International Film Festival on June 20.


The crew of crime flick "Decoder," which will begin nationwide release on August 3, held a press conference as part of the 21st Shanghai International Film Festival on June 20.

The movie stars mainland actor Han Geng and Japanese heartthrob Yamashita Tomohisa, and centers around the adventure and growth of an intelligent IT engineer who is unexpectedly involved in an intrigue.  

It is the first time Japanese actor and singer Yamashita Tomohisa, known for TV series “Code Blue” and “Summer Nude,” stars in a Chinese film. 

Last year China’s box office receipts during summer exceeded 3 billion yuan (US$463 million).
