Realistic series about China's village women to hit the small screen

"Marriage Upheaval,” an inspiring realistic series about the lives and emotions of China’s village women, will begin airing on local Drama Channel on August 13.

Starring Yao Qianyu and Li Jian, the series revolves around a strong-willed woman who refuses to be defeated by the betrayal of her husband. Instead, she helps the whole village become prosperous through entrepreneurship.

Directed by Kang Zhenhai, the series was shot at a village in northeast China. It reflects the growth and dreams of today’s village people in this new era.

In the following months, more realistic dramas about ordinary people’s lives are expected to be released.
